When I started the book it was a bit confusing on the first pages because I knew nothing about the Grisha. But the author explained everything so I understood it fast.
The book is well - written and I like the characters. Their all very different what made the book so interesting.
I also liked how Bardugo explained Alinas inner conflict after she found out about her powers. Knowing she was Grisha but not quite believing it.
But it seemed that she forgot about a few things too soon.
The world is well described but it took me almost the whole book to get what the Shadow Fold is (I read it as an e-book so I didn´t know the decriptions from the back of the book)
I still have a hard time of imagining the Shadow Fold.
A character I really adore is the Darkling! I still ship him and Alina! They would have made a good couple!
So I´m really into the Grisha fandom now and I wish I could say more aout the book but I didn´t write this review immediately...

Alina ist eine einfache Kartografin in der Ersten Armee des Zaren. Unscheinbar und still lebt sie im Schatten ihres Kindheitsfreunds Maljen, dem erfolgreichen Fährtenleser und Frauenschwarm. Keiner darf wissen, dass sie heimlich in ihn verliebt ist, am allerwenigsten er selbst. Erst als sie ihm bei einem Überfall auf unerklärliche Weise das Leben rettet, ändert sich Alinas Dasein auf einen Schlag. Man munkelt, sie hätte übermenschliche Kräfte, und nicht zuletzt der Zar selbst wird nun auf sie aufmerksam...
Also ich mag den englischen Klappentext, Titel und Cover ja lieber aber nun ja...
Wie man oben sieht habe ich das Buch auf englisch gelesen, daher kann ich hier nichts zur Übersetzung sagen.
Als ich mit dem Buch angefangen habe war es zuerst ein wenig verwirrend da ich keinen Plan hatte was Grisha oder der Darkling sind (ich weiß leider nicht welchen Namen er im deutschen Buch hat)
Aber diese Verwirrung hat sich recht schnell aufgelöst.
Das (englische) Buch ist sehr gut geschrieben und ich mag die Charaktere. Sie sind alle sehr unterschiedlich.
Ich hatte nur bei Alina manchmal das Gefühl, dass sie zu schnell aufgibt und einige Dinge sehr schnell vergisst. Ansonsten isz auch ihr Charakter sehr gut geschrieben.
Die Welt wurde erklärt, auch wie es in den anderen Ländern um die Grisha steht.
Einen Charakter den ich sehr mochte ist der Darkling. Ich bin immer noch der Meinung, dass er und Alina ein tolles Paar abgeben würden xD
