No one expects a princess to be brutal. And Lada Dragwyla likes it that way.

First of all: This book was a huge dissapointment! Everyone said Lada would be soooo crazy, but really she isn´t.
Yes, she is not like the other girls. But I could have been made more about that. Through the whole book I was waiting for this "craziness" to come through. But it didn´t.
Instead I read of a bad teenie love story.
I didn´t expect her to be only 13 through almost the whole book and when she got older, well, she fell in love.
There were some great plots in the book but everything went undescribed.
The only thing the author described was her love for the boy and how it was driving her mad.
Yes, there were some shocking facts in the book about how the middle ages looked like for women, but it didn´t make the book any better.
Let´s come to Radu. First he´s a whiny boy and then - well, he´s still a whiny boy.
I don´t want to spoiler anyone but how things turned out for him should have been interesting - but it wasn´t. It was so bad described, that you didn´t get a feeling for it.
EVERYTHING went undescribed! You could say the only plot was this goddamn lovestory which I REALLY didn´t want to read about!
The ending of the book was a bit better. Good enough to convince me to give the 2nd book a try ("Now I rise") - hopefully the title for the next book fits better. This one didn´t.
But the ending also didn´t have any scene which was fully described.
Also the author seemed to have forgotten some plots she invented through the book.
Oh and something else about the characters: I couldn´t empathise with anyone of the characters. I didn´t like all of them. Also they didn´t evolve. They stayed the same way throughot the book even with age.
But the cover is great!

Seit sie und ihr Bruder von ihrem Vater verlassen wurden um im Reich der Ottomanen aufzuwachsen, weiß sie, dass Rücksichtslosigkeit der einzige Weg ist zu überleben.Aufgrund der Abstammung die sie und ihren Bruder speziell, aber auch zu Zielscheiben macht.
Lada schärft ihre Fähigkeiten als Kriegerin während sie einen Plan schmiedet um sich an dem Königreich zu rächen, dass sie gefangen hält. Dann treffen sie und Radu auf Mehmed, den Sohn des Sultans und alles verändert sich. Jetzt steht Mehmed zwischen Radu und Lada als sie sich von Geschwistern zu Rivalen entwickeln und die Bände von Liebe Loyalität die sie zusammenhalten sich bis zum zerreißen ausdehnen.


Dieses Buch ist die größte Enttäuschung die ich je gelesen habe. Es hält NICHTS von dem was Klappentext und Cover versprechen.
Die Charaktere entwickeln sich nicht weiter,man kann sich nicht in sie einfühlen und ich kann KEINEN von ihnen ausstehen.
Lada ist nicht verrückt oder brutal, sie ist nur ein Mädchen, dass kein Mädchen sein will und ausflippt als sie sich verliebt.
Das Buch ist eine gottverdammte Liebesgeschichte und definitic NIHCHt das was ich lesen wollte. Der Titel passt auch überhazpt nicht zum Buch.
Ich dachte sie wären wirklich Gefangene. Nicht so was wie im Buch.
Außerdem hätte ich nicht erwartet, dass sie fast die Hälfte des Buches gerade mal 13 Jahre alt ist!
Das Buch hat ein paar Stellen, die echt gut hätten sein können - wären sie mal beschrieben worden.
Spannung und Actio sucht man vergebens in dem Buch.
Auch wie die Dinge sich für Radu entwickelt haben... Man hätte viel mehr daraus machen können!
Das Buch hat ein paar Szenen drinnen die zeigen wie beschissen die Situation für Frauen im Mittelalter war und auch Lada ist sich dessen bewusst, aber das wars.
Das Ende war ein wenig besser, daher gebe ich dem zweiten Band ("Now I rise") noch eine Chance, in der Hoffnung, dass er besser wird.
Das Cover des Buches ist toll. Der Inhalt ist scheiße.
Ein Buch für 13 - 15 Jahre oder für Leute die keine hohen Erwartungen haben.
